Hi ZELEE, how are you?

I’m chilling life has been treating me well lately!

You related your first album last week. Were you nervous at all?

No not at all! We’ve been working on this project for months now and at this point I’m just really excited for the world to see what we’ve created.

It is called ‘Dopamine Renaissance.’ Can you tell us a bit more about the title?

This project is about escaping the numbing state you put yourself in after facing multiple setbacks and getting back to and finding peace within the simple joys of life.

Do you have a favorite track?

It changes everyday to be honest haha I’d rather not answer because it might change in a few hours depending on how I feel.

What is your songwriting process like?

Well, it depends. I might be watching a movie or get into some type of situation and just start writing down whatever goes through my mind. When I get to the studio and actually start creating tracks with the people I usually work with, something just clicks and I pair the sounds with one of the notes based on feeling.

It seems like that is working! Do you have a favourite lyric on this album?

‘Sometimes relations are sometimes it’s gone, it's done before it was’ from the song ‘No Signal’

Who are people you draw inspiration from musically 

I’d say D’Angelo for feeling, anything gospel for melody, and more recently Mk.gee for edge 

Talking about inspirations, you seem to be into fashion as well. Where do you get your style inspiration?

Mostly East Asia to be honest. It’s bold, authentic and atypical right up my alley! 

Who would be your dream collaboration (can be music or fashion)?

D’Angelo without a doubt!

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned during the making of this album?

You’re never as good as you think you are but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re bad. Stay humble and keep learning.

Lastly, tell us why people should go and stream your album!

It’s a soulful and relatable project about growing pains with a mix of very personal and catchy songs. The vocals ain’t TOO bad either (humbly of course hahaha)
