Hi Birthe, How are you? 

Hi, I'm doing great, thanks for asking!

You released your single 'Strangers' last month. How was the process?

‘Strangers’ is my third song out now and it was my second time making a music video, so the process went a bit smoother than with my previous two songs. We started writing and recording 'Strangers' this winter and went to Spain to shoot the video in April. Besides the many interviews and opportunities, I really enjoyed working on this one, as it's my personal favorite.

You are booked and busy with shows with some very exciting performances coming up. Which song do you enjoy performing live the most?

There are indeed some great shows coming up, for which I’m very grateful and excited! At the moment I prefer to perform 'Strangers' live, but I also really enjoy bringing unreleased work. It's a very nice feeling when people sing along or dance to a song that isn't out yet.

What's your go-to meal after a performance?

I have to say that I usually eat before my shows. I don't really have a go-to meal but pasta or fries are always a good idea ;)

Do you also have a pre-show ritual? 

When I was younger, I used to quickly go through all the lyrics before I went on stage. Now I just try to relax and have faith in my team. I always do my vocal warm ups and sometimes add some breathing exercises.

What is your favorite aspect of the creative process, outside of making music?

My favorite aspect is when all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place. I love working out the whole concept of a song, an album or a show. It all starts with a small idea, that turns into a song, then the visuals come along and the feeling when it all comes together to make the bigger picture is what I live for as an artist.

Your outfits are always on point! Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?

I get my inspiration, like many, from Instagram influencers and I like to read fashion magazines as Vogue. I also work with a stylist for my live shows, who makes sure that the outfits fits my personality and style.

Which social media platform is your favorite and why?

I prefer old school texting and calling! If I really have to choose a platform I would say Instagram because I sometimes find inspiration in there.

We’re almost august. Do you already have a favorite memory of the summer so far? 

Besides all the fun assignments and performances I had, my favorite memory of this summer is probably celebrating my 22th birthday with my friends and family. 'Gentse Feesten' are always a highlight of my summer as well.

Can you give us a sneak peek into this year/summer? What can we expect from you?

I have a few big shows coming up as, Rijvers Festival, Boomfest and my own show in the Silt Casino of Middelkerke! Besides that I'm working on some new music. In the run-up to my debut album, which will be released early next year, I’m planning to release a new single at the end of October. Tell us something to inspire the culture! 

Failure doesn't exist. Music and art is a growth and learning process. By the way, I think there's nothing more beautiful than following your gut feeling and to learn and move on from there.
