Devantier Rain, tell us more about the name? Where does it come from? What does it mean to you?
Devantier was actually my grandmother's maiden name before she married my Grandpa. Always thought the name sounded cool and the look of it just made sense. The rain part i'll keep as a secret for a little while
You have a very soothing and comforting voice but when you perform you really tear the place down, how do you do that?
Hahaa i never thought of the contrast, to be honest it's not something i do consciously but i would like to give people alternate versions of my sound. I tend to make my recording more relaxing because it's an environment I'm the most comfortable in but at a show you want to let loose this energy y'know? I guess i didn't really explain how i do it haha but i don't even know myself
Have you ever messed up during a performance? If yes, please tell us everything.
Oh yeah for sure, the only time I can vividly remember was at our most recent event at panke culture in Berlin. My friend Maliik had a set before mine and wanted to finish his set with a song featuring me to introduce me to the crowd. I had completely forgotten about that so I walked outside the event to get some fresh air and also I had a couple of drinks and I was feeling them hahaha. So when i'm outside waiting my friend comes and grabs me, drags me across the entire venue just for me to trip on the stage break a couple of bottles and land straight on the floor, it was even more embarrassing too since i forgot all my lyrics hahah
As an artist you have a very strong and powerful image, is it something that comes natural to you?
I would say so, I try not to overthink since that would lead to not being true to myself and being true to myself is something I value very much. Although before I was making music, fashion was a big part of my life so that definitely has something to do with.
You’re surrounded by many creatives and inspiring people, would you have gotten into music without them?
Definitely not, 3 years ago I had no intentions of making any kinds of music. Always believed it was an unreachable ambition, but people believed in me before I even believed in myself. Its kind of surreal talking about this now but its all thanks to them that I became Devantier Rain
Where are you in life right now? What’s up?
I live in Berlin, Germany grinding music just like the next guy only wishing and waiting to improve and give the public something they've never heard .
Imagine you could turn into an action figure, who would you pick and why?.
Oh shit, would definitely have to be an action man, i dont have any specifics but they go crazy or this majin buu figure i had as a kid cause that nigga just too cold
Dreamworld or real world?
Dreamworld for sure, living in a place with no constraints, anything and everything is possible sounds way more exciting to me

Being an artist is a grind and it's one that never stops, so have fun along the way and believe in yourself and your ideas, you're the only one capable of them. Everyone is born an individual don't waste your time in other people's shadows and ambitions and build something for you otherwise what the fuck was the point in all this.
